Crews put out brush fire in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – Suffolk Fire and Rescue put out a brush fire in the 1100 Block of Nansemond Parkway Sunday afternoon.

Fire & Rescue personnel arrived on the scene at 3:45 p.m. and found heavy smoke showing from an area behind a trailer in the Magnolia Lakes Trailer Park. The fire was declared under control at 4:14 p.m.

Fire Crews remained on scene for more than an hour wetting down the area and putting out hot spots due to the deep seated fire in the woods. Battalion 1, Brush 1, Engine 1, Engine 3, EMS 1, Ladder 3, Medic 3A, and Rescue 1 responded to the incident.

There were no injuries and no damage to homes. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
