Elizabeth City, N.C. – An Elizabeth City woman is in jail after allegedly stabbing a man in the back Sunday morning.

33-year-old Romaine Perry has been charged with Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.

The Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office received the initial report of the stabbing at 11am on Sunday. When deputies arrived they found Perry leaving the home and a man inside with a 1-inch cut in his lower left back.

The man told deputies he had argued with Perry before she stabbed him in the back. His wound was not life-threatening.

Perry is being held on a 48-hour hold due to the domestic dispute and will appear in court on Monday.
