Woman attacked while walking to apartment in Va. Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – A woman was walking to her apartment early Saturday when she was attacked, according to police.

Police say it happened around 2:20 a.m. in the 4100 block of Cornwallis Drive, which is off Bonney Road.

Police say the woman was walking to her apartment when she heard footsteps, turned around and was tackled by a man she didn’t know.

The woman screamed and was punched by the man.  She continued to fight until the man got up and ran toward Bonney Rd., according to police.

Police say the suspect is described as a white man, 25 to 30 years old, 5’9 to 5’10” tall with a medium build.  He was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.
