While most of the Southside and Northeastern North Carolina have seen rain, the Peninsula, Middle Peninsula, Eastern Shore, and inland Southside have seen some sleet and snow mixed in.

Virginia State Police say they have responded to 15 traffic crashes and 18 disabled vehicles in our region since midnight.

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for James City, Accomack, Gloucester and Mathews counties through 5 p.m. Monday.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.

The National Weather Service says there is the potential for 1 to 3 inches of snow to fall in these areas.

Temperatures will only climb into the upper 30s Monday with winds from the northeast at 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
