Man found shot to death in Portsmouth’s 2nd homicide of the day

Portsmouth, Va. - Portsmouth Police are now investigating the second homicide of the day after they say a man was found unresponsive in the 4000 block of Ketch Drive.

Calls came in about the incident at around 6:46 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers went to the scene and found a man who they say was unresponsive. They say the man had been shot.

When medics arrived, the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Right now, police are looking for a black vehicle. Witnesses saw this vehicle leaving the area.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Police say this is the 3rd homicide in the city this year.
