Newport News, Va. - A 53-year-old Portsmouth woman was taken to the hospital on Monday after she slammed into the side of a house in Newport News. Police say reckless driving charges are pending against her. Five others were treated at the scene.
Police say at around 8:40 p.m. a gray Volvo and a white Dodge Caravan were both going North on Warwick Blvd.
They say the van was in the right lane and the Volvo was in the left. The driver of the van tried to make a left turn on 64th Street and it hit the Volvo forcing it to hit the side of a house in the 300 block.
The van then ran into a telephone pole.
No one in the house was injured police say. There were three people in each vehicle including an infant who was in the Volvo.
There were no serious injuries.
