Norfolk police investigating after car crashes into pole

Norfolk, Va. – Police responded to the scene of a two car collision around 4 p.m. Saturday on West Ocean Avenue. One car ran into a pole. Traffic was detoured for several hours.

Witnesses told Newschannel 3 both cars were driving on West Ocean View in opposite directions when the one of the drivers went to turn onto First View the other car lost control and ran straight into a pole.

Police say one man was taken to the hospital, no one else was injured.

Police are still trying to determine who is at fault and if any charges will be filed.

All lanes of traffic are back open.
