UPDATE: The Currituck-Knotts Island ferry is making its 3:30 p.m. run from Currituck, but will then tie up for the day due to windy, icy conditions.
The following is a message from the North Carolina Ferry System, posted Tuesday morning:
“Unfortunately, the winds have not died down this morning on Pamlico Sound. All morning runs between Cedar Island, Ocracoke, and Swan Quarter have been cancelled. The next possible runs are the 1:30 p.m. Ocracoke to Swan Quarter and the 4:30 Cedar Island to Ocracoke, weather permitting.”
