Norfolk police arrest man accused of attempted abduction, indecent exposure

Norfolk, Va. - A man is now behind bars in Norfolk after police say he exposed himself to a woman and tried to abduct two girls on Tuesday morning.

They've arrested Tommy Basnight, who has been charged with indecent exposure and attempted abduction.

Police say at around 7:30 a.m. on December 10th, Basnight approached a woman who was inside of her vehicle. They say he asked her a question and then exposed himself to her.

After this incident, they say Basnight then approached a girl who was at a bus stop in the 3100 block of Kimball Terrace. Police say he grabbed her arm but she was able to get away and she ran home.

Police say Basnight then approached another girl and tried to grab her clothes.  She also ran away to her home. Once there, her parent called police.

No one was injured in any of the incidents police say.

Basnight is now in the Norfolk City Jail on no bond.
