Hampton, Va. – A home was damaged in a fire Sunday morning.  It’s the third house fire reported in Hampton over the weekend.

According to a spokesperson with the Hampton Fire Dept., firefighters were called to the house on Horseshoe Landing Road shortly after 9 a.m.

Smoke was visible and fire was showing at the back of the split-level home when they got there.

The people living inside the home had already made it out of the house when firefighters arrived.

It took about 20 minutes for the fire to be extinguished.  The home sustained fire damage to the first floor and smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

No one was injured.  A Red Cross Disaster Relief Team responded to the fire and provided four adults with food, clothing and a place to stay.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
