Teens arrested for string of burglaries in Ocean Lakes

Four teenagers have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a string of burglaries in the Ocean Lakes area of Virginia Beach over the past few months.

Virginia Beach Police say that on September 23rd, a resident notified officers that two people were seen walking by houses with seemingly empty backpacks and later seen walking with full backpacks and carrying laptops.

A description of the people were given to officers and through personal knowledge of the officers working the area and the school resource officer working at Ocean Lakes High School, the suspect’s identities were developed.

The two were arrested shortly afterwards.

Detectives then learned that a total of four suspects involved in the burglaries, including two from New York, where it is believed that the stolen items were taken to be sold.

All four suspects have now been arrested and are being held responsible for over 12 burglaries.

Jamie N Edinborough, 18, of Brooklyn, New York was charged with three counts of Breaking and Entering, four counts of Grand Larceny and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

Juvenile, age 17, of Brooklyn, New York, was charged with three counts of Breaking and Entering, four counts of Grand Larceny and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

Jerry Lee Brown, 19, was charged with three counts of Breaking and Entering, four counts of Grand Larceny and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

Joshua Matthew Edmonson, 19, was charged with three counts of Breaking and Entering, four counts of Grand Larceny and three counts of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

Similar burglaries are still being investigated to see if they’re related.
