An active-duty Army soldier was arrested in James City County after reportedly breaking into her husband's home and attacking him and his girlfriend.

According to James City County Police, Margaret "Maggie" Sarah Kloske, 24, drove from Fort Bragg to her husband's residence at the Stratford Hall Apartments with the intent to kill herself in front of her husband, 23-year-old Alfredo Alvarado, and his girlfriend.

Kloske, armed with a .45 caliber revolver, entered the home through Alvarado's roommate's bedroom window and went to Alvarado's bedroom door, which was locked.

Alvarado's roommate was able to escape out the window in his underwear and call 911.

Kloske then reportedly started yelling and banging on her husband's bedroom door before firing one shot through the door.

Alvarado opened the door and struggled with Kloske and was able to knock the gun from her hand.

She then attacked her husband's girlfriend, repeatedly punching her in the head before the girl was able to escape.

Police arrived and took Kloske into custody. She has been charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, two counts of attempted malicious wounding, assault and battery, reckless handling of a firearm, and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.

She is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond.

According to court documents, Kloske and Alvarado had only been married for two months. Kloske had been in the Army for about a year and a half.
