Update: Police have now arrested 22-year-old Thelonious Bartholomew Ragin in connection to the shooting. 

Virginia Beach , Va. - Virginia Beach police have made an arrest after one person was shot on Clear Springs Road near Level Green Blvd. on Monday evening.

They've charged 22-year-old Thelonious Bartholomew Ragin II with malicious wounding, use of a firearm and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

He is now being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.

Police say the victim was shot while sitting in a parked car near the victim’s house.

The investigation reveals that the victim knew the offender and that the intended target may have been the person sitting next to the victim.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate the case.
