Norfolk, Va. – An organization accused the city of Norfolk of violating the U.S. Fish and Wildlife permit after bald-eagle nests were removed from the Norfolk Botanical Garden. Now the USFWS has responded saying they’ve found no violations.

The city requested the review and the USFWS found that their actions are within the conditions of their federal permit.

A letter was sent to the city manager of Norfolk back in March from Eagle On Alliance’s attorney.

Crews started to remove the nests because two eagles were struck and killed in 2011 at Norfolk International Airport according to the USDA’s website. They say an aircraft was also damaged.
