A Newport News man charged with murder is apparently talking about his case in a letter from jail.

Xan Williams, 19, is charged with the murder of 25-year-old Tyrone Frink in Newport News in June 2012.

Frink was found at the intersection of 33rd Street and Madison Avenue suffering from multiple gunshots. He later died at the hospital.

Newport News Police said that Frink and Williams had been in an argument over a woman at the time of the killing.

Two others were also injured in the shooting.

Police charged Williams with First Degree Murder, two counts of Malicious Wounding, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, third offense. He was also charged with three counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

In an affidavit for search warrant obtained by NewsChannel 3, a Newport News police detective outlines two letters intercepted at the Hampton Roads Regional Jail where Williams is being held without bond.

In one letter written by Williams, he discusses the murder charge he's facing.

The detective quotes part of the letter that reads:

"But yeah [expletive] definitely looking [expletive] up for me with this whole case [expletive]. Check this doe [though] homie I don't regret [expletive], if I had to gi [go] back in time [expletive] will be the same. Because first and formost [sic] aint no [expletive] disrespect me...and walk away breathing, Disrespect never tolerated!"

The detective writes that the letter is "indicative of gang participation."

Williams was arrested in Hampton during a traffic stop July 1st.

He is scheduled to appear in Newport News Circuit Court again on March 11.
