Chesapeake, Va. - These are financially troubling times for Chesapeake schools.

The district needs almost $9.5 million from the state. Officials say if it doesn't get it, cuts will have to be made.

30 staff positions - some drivers education courses and middle school sports - are all on the chopping block.

The first of two public hearings on the budget will be Monday, February 25.

The second meeting is on March 11 - and that's when the board could have its final decision.

Both meetings are at 6 p.m. in the school administration building.
