A few special therapy dogs made a visit to the NewsChannel 3 studios on Friday.

On Tuesday, NewsChannel 3's Todd Corillo brought you the story of Zip, Zeke and Everest.

You can read about it here.

They are specially trained therapy dogs that are part of the Riverview River Barkers at Riverview Elementary in Hertford County, North Carolina.

The dogs visit twice a month and help students improve their reading fluency.

NewsChannel 3 Took Action and Got Results, buying brand new books for every kindergarten student at the school to take home.

On Friday, the therapy dogs delivered thank-you cards from the students to NewsChannel 3.

Program founder Sue Hunter said "I can't tell you what you all have done for Riverview. The pride that's been not just in the children but the teachers and everything."
