Concealed handgun permits may no longer be public record in Virginia.

That is if a newly amended bill makes it through the General Assembly.

The original bill, which started in the Senate, made concealed handgun permits private if the person is protected by a court ordered protective order.

Then the bill moved to the House where it got a major re-write.

A House committee added an amendment making all concealed-handgun permits private.

The bill now moves to the house floor.
