A bald eagle found in Chesapeake has found a new home in Massachusetts.

The eagle was found near the intersection of Butts Station Road and Centerville Turnpike on New Year’s Eve of 2011.

Doctors at the Virginia Wildlife Center discovered she had lead poisoning, and they found pieces of buck shot in the eagle's digestive track.

After therapy and rehabilitation, she was well enough to be moved into a flight pen in March of last year.

Now she'll be moving to her new home at the Massachusetts Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center.
