James City Co., Va. – James City County Police are now seeking help from the public in identifying a suspect who they say stole a blue 2007 Chevrolet 1500 Crew Cab pick-up truck from a residence in James City County on December 18, 2012.

According to officials, the vehicle was taken from a driveway at a residence in the early morning hours of December 18. The vehicle was later recovered on December 19 at the 7-Eleven store located at 715 Kecoughtan Road in Hampton.

The suspect drove up to the gas pumps at 6:30 a.m., went inside, and paid for gas. When he went to pump the gas, the pump did not work – and he ran away from the area on foot, leaving the vehicle at the pumps.

Police say the suspect is a black male. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
