Due to the anticipated high voter turnout expected on Election Day, VDOT crews will closely monitor traffic flow at or near polling locations across the region.

Polls are slated to be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and traffic backups are possible in many locations across the region.

VDOT says motorists should anticipate potential traffic delays at the Interstate ramps with polling locations within a ½ mile of an intersection in the municipalities. The most closely monitored Interstate ramps and intersection locations will be:

–   I-64 & E. Little Creek Road

–  I-264 & Ballentine

–  I-264 & Lynnhaven

–  I-264 and Birdneck

In addition, there are no VDOT planned maintenance or construction activities in close proximity to a polling location.
