Chesapeake police are asking for our help to find an accused thief they say has been working hard to avoid capture.

Chesapeake police say it's been frustrating trying to find 19-year-old Steven Quimby.

Police say the teen broke into two homes in the Western Branch section of Chesapeake in May.

First, police say Quimby targeted a home and a car on Jean Shackelford Drive.

Then, he's accused of stealing from a home on Rick Fletcher Court.

In all, investigators say he got away with thousands in stolen goods.

Police say the cars and houses he targeted were unlocked.

But police say he made a mistake asking a friend to sell the loot at a pawn shop.

That led police to charge Quimby with burglary and grand larceny with intent to sell.

Now officers hope someone recognizes his face and calls the Crime Line.

Chesapeake police say Steven Quimby's last known address is the 100 block of Bob White Street in Portsmouth and he could be in that city now.

If you know anything that could help police capture Quimby, call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
