Glass blowing artist John Miller is doing a glass blowing demo at the Chrysler Museum of Art.
Miller specializes in gigantic diner food. Today, he's making a Doumar's ice-cream cone.
Miller is known for large glass-blown sculptural pieces. Some of his most popular pieces are large-scale recreations of fast food staples like cheeseburgers, French fries, and even icy cold beer.
Today starting at 10 a.m., Miller will work in the Glass Studio before an audience to create a giant Doumar’s ice-cream cone in honor of the inventors in Norfolk.
The public is invited to watch him work this week and see the exhibition of his work at the museum – all free.
On Saturday, the Museum will host its monthly Second Saturday Family Day.
There will be a special family friendly demonstration by John Miller in the Glass Studio from 10 a.m. to noon and fun family activities in the Museum from noon to 3 p.m.
The first 500 people who arrive at the Museum at noon on Saturday will receive a free Doumar’s ice-cream cone.
John Miller’s exhibition is on display through August 26, and he will work in the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio July 11 to 15.
