Nearly 300 sailors are headed back to Hampton Roads.
The USS Donald Cook left last September. It is due back at Naval Station Norfolk Thursday after a seven month deployment to the Horn of Africa and the Persian Gulf.
During the deployment, they supported counter-piracy and counter-terrorism operations.
