    Virginia family of 5 killed in Tractor trailer accident in Maryland

    Virginia Beach, Va. – A man is dead after fleeing a DUI stop in Virginia Beach early Sunday morning, according to police. Travis Martin Hill, 30, of Virginia Beach was driving a Ford pickup truck when police attempted to pull him over.     Garage fire displaces family of seven in Suffolk

    Suffolk, Va.-Fire and rescue units were called to the 6100 block of Trumpet Drive for a residential fire.  Once on scene they found heavy smoke and flames coming from an attached garage. Four adults and three children will be temporarily displaced and staying with family while there is no power to the home.  Estimated damage is about $50,000 to the home.  No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

    Portsmouth, Va. – One person is dead after a fire at an 5-story apartment building Saturday morning. Crews were called to the 400 block of King Street around 8:50 a.m. to reports of a structure fire. The fire was contained to one apartment on the fourth floor.     Coast Guard medevacs 71 year old woman from cruise ship 50 miles off NC coast

    PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 71-year-old woman suffering from abdominal pain Saturday from a cruise ship approximately 50 miles east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Crewmembers aboard the Norwegian Breakaway, a 1,069-foot cruise ship, contacted Coast Guard watchstanders at approximately 8:45 a.m., notifying them a woman was in need of medical attention aboard the ship.
