    UPDATE: One person dead after fire breaks out in 5-story apartment building in Portsmouth

    Portsmouth, Va. – One person is dead after a fire at an 5-story apartment building Saturday morning. Crews were called to the 400 block of King Street around 8:50 a.m. to reports of a structure fire. The fire was contained to one apartment on the fourth floor.     PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 71-year-old woman suffering from abdominal pain Saturday from a cruise ship approximately 50 miles east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Crewmembers aboard the Norwegian Breakaway, a 1,069-foot cruise ship, contacted Coast Guard watchstanders at approximately 8:45 a.m., notifying them a woman was in need of medical attention aboard the ship.     Two Newport News men arrested in Suffolk animal cruelty case

          Suffolk, Va. -Two Newport News men have been charged and arrested in connection with an animal cruelty case based in Suffolk. Police met with the victims in reference to an alleged animal cruelty case on October 15, 2014.     Virginia Beach, Va. – State Police closed the eastbound ramp from I-64 to Indian River Road for several hours Sunday morning after a fatal accident following a police chase. A state trooper initially observed a 2013 Toyota Camry traveling over 100mph on I-64 East at the I-264 interchange.   • One rescued, five displaced after early morning fire in Hampton

    Hampton, Va. – One person was rescued and five people have been displaced by an early morning fire in Hampton. The fire in the 1700 block of Carriage Drive was reported about 4:10am.
