Brian Halberstadt

Executive Producer

Brian Halberstadt is WTKR NewsChannel 3 ‘s executive producer. Along with being one of the newsroom’s managers, Brian also produces many of WTKR’S live events, including the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Frequent viewers of WGNT News, Powered by NewsChannel 3, also know the back of his head from his occasional appearances from 7:00-9:00am.

Brian joined NewsChannel 3 in 2004, and has been the station’s Executive Producer since 2008. He started his journalism career in radio, joining Indiana Public Radio in 1992. He then moved to WDTN-TV in Dayton, Ohio in 1997 before heading east to Hampton Roads. He graduated from Ball State University, where he studied Telecommunications, Political Science, and Economics.

Brian’s work has been recognized by the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists, the Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters and the National Television Academy.

Brian and his wife live in Chesapeake. They enjoy seeing the historical areas of Virginia, and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts.
