    UPDATE: Power has been restored to all customers, including Newtown Elementary School and Bettie F. Williams Elementary, as of 9:26 a.m. Virginia Beach, Virginia – A transformer fire was the cause of a power outage in Virginia Beach Tuesday morning. Over 5,000 people in the area of Newtown Road and Woburn Lane, including Bettie F. Williams Elementary and Newtown Road Elementary lost power around 4:00am. Most had power restored in about 30 minutes. Newtown Road is blocked in the 800 block.

    UPDATE: Woman rescued after jumping from HRBT bridge

    A woman jumped over the HRBT bridge into the water around 11:10 p.m. Sunday night, according to State Police. She was rescued shortly after midnight. The 58-year-old woman was rescued by the Coast Guard from the Elizabeth River near the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.     Norfolk, Virginia – Twelve people have been displaced after an early morning, two-alarm fire in the Whitehurst Farm neighborhood. Norfolk Fire and Rescue responded to the 8300 block of Guam Parkway shortly before 5:00am Saturday. Heavy fire was coming from the roof of the apartment when units arrived. Working smoke detectors were in place but did not alert residents. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    Isle of Wight County, Virginia – A Surry County Sheriff’s Office deputy was conducting a radar operation and observed two motorcycles speeding shortly after 12:30am Saturday.
