    Norfolk, Virginia – A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot outside of the Marriott SpringHill Suites in the 6300 block of North Newtown Road in Norfolk. The shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. The man was transported to Leigh Memorial Hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.     A 50-year-old man died Sunday after being hit by a car while attempting to cross a Norfolk street.

    Fire destroys Chesapeake man’s home

    Chesapeake, Virginia – Firefighters were called to a house fire in the 2700 block of Blacksmith Trail in the Hickory section of Chesapeake around 10:00pm Monday. The fire was brought under control an hour later. The cause of the fire has not been determined and is still under investigation. There were no injuries and one man who lived in the home was displaced.

    Norfolk, Va. – According to Norfolk Police dispatch, one person was transported to the hospital after being stabbed in the 3900 block of Pleasant Avenue. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Dispatch says this is possibly a domestic situation. The incident remains under investigation.

    York County, Va. – State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident on I-64 westbound at mile marker 233 in York County. The driver has been identified as 46-year-old Maurice Scott McDaniels of the 6000 block of Chinquapin Circle in Prince George, Virginia. At 2:35 a.m., a 2010 Harley Davidson, driven by Maurice Scott McDaniels, lost control, and ran off the road, causing the driver to be ejected, according to State Police.     Portsmouth, Va. – Three men were stabbed early Tuesday morning in Olde Towne Portsmouth. A friend of two of the victims tells NewsChannel 3 the men were leaving Longboards bar when they were stabbed in the back near High and Dinwiddie Streets.     UPDATE: The Currituck-Knotts Island Ferry has resumed service after being suspended due to fog. According to NCDOT, the Currituck-Knotts Island Ferry is not currently running due to foggy conditions. Ferry service between Hatteras and Ocracoke has been temporarily suspended.
