    Interstate brawl lands one in hospital, one in jail

    Newport News, Va. – Virginia State Police responded to a fight between individuals in the southbound lanes of Interstate 664 near the south island of the MMMBT in Newport News Tuesday night. The altercation happened just before 9:00pm. State Police say a female was stabbed in the lower leg. She was transported to Riverside Hospital. Police arrested Rachquel Ricks of Portsmouth and she has been charged with malicious wounding. The incident remains under investigation.

    A falling tree caused a massive power outage, gas leak and a house fire in the 200 block of Eastwood Drive.

    Hampton home damaged in early morning fire

    HAMPTON, Va. – Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a Hampton home early Tuesday morning. Hampton Fire crews responded to the fire in the 600 block of Teach Street just before 5 a.m. The fire was quickly brought under control, but it left the home with significant damage.   No injuries were reported and no one was home during the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

    Portsmouth Police investigate 7-Eleven armed robbery

    Portsmouth, Va – The 7-Eleven located at 3201 George Washington Highway was robbed at gunpoint just after 3:00am Wednesday, according to police. No one was injured during the robbery. Police have not yet released a description of the suspect. This location was last robbed at gunpoint on June 30th. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up.
