    Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk Police have arrested a 19-year-old and charged him in the shooting and robbery of a Norfolk State University student. The student was shot early Monday morning near the school’s campus, police tell NewsChannel 3.     UPDATE: Two charged with murder, armed robbery after 82-year-old man is shot to death in Suffolk

    UPDATE: Police have now made several arrests in a homicide that occurred Monday morning. They’ve arrested and charged Leon Jerome Hayes, 33, and Naomi Nichelle Lambert, 22.     Jefferson Avenue reopens after early morning crash

    Newport News, Virginia – According to police, a man driving a Honda crashed into the back of a dump truck around 2:00am Thursday, becoming trapped inside his car. The dump truck was preparing to make a U-turn onto southbound Jefferson Avenue when the accident happened. The Newport News fire department utilized heavy duty rescue equipment to extricate the victim from the vehicle. Jefferson Avenue is now open in all directions. The accident is under investigation.
