  • Study Reveals Many Teen Drivers Are Overconfident

    A new back to school study by Liberty Mutual and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) revealed that 57% of older teens are overconfident and perceive themselves as safe drivers, despite experiencing more accidents and near misses than younger teens. The study also revealed that over 70% of high school seniors use a phone while driving and over 67% admit to using apps while behind the wheel.   • “Roc the Ride” For Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

    "Roc the Ride" is a three-day, 270-mile cycling trip to raise awareness for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It's sponsored by the "Roc Solid Foundation" to build hope for children and families facing pediatric cancer. From Sept. 13th - 15th, the 12-member team will cycle from Washington, D.C. to Richmond and then Norfolk. The "final mile" to CHKD in Norfolk will include dozens of Roc Solid kids and families. Each cyclist has a goal to raise $5,000, and all proceeds will benefit Roc Solid's programs. - Roc Solid Foundation is a nonprofit that builds hope for families facing pediatric cancer. It’s best known for its Play It Forward initiative, which builds custom playsets for kids ages 1 - 8 and completes room makeovers for kids ages 8 - 18. The organization has completed nearly 300 Play It Forward projects throughout the country. .
