    Two more injured in Portsmouth’s second stabbing of the weekend

    Portsmouth, Va.- Police responded to reports of a double stabbing around 3:15 p.m. on Sunday in the 2600 block of Portsmouth Blvd. Officials say this was a domestic related incident and is not related to the stabbing on Saturday. One man was cut on his arm and another man was cut on his face. Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries. There is no suspect in custody, but Portsmouth Police are currently investigating both double shootings that happened this weekend.

The judge denied a request from McDonnell’s lawyers to dismiss the charges.     Norfolk, Va.- The annual Honey Bee Festival took place Saturday and was put on by the Beekeepers Guild of Southeast Virginia.     Fatal car accident in Southampton County

    Southampton County, Va.- Early Saturday morning, a young woman died in a car accident on Route 258. Police say the car was traveling South on Route 684 when the driver ran off the road and hit a pole. 29-year-old Tiffany Boddie was a passenger in the car and died at the hospital.

    If you’re planning on taking the Downtown Tunnel from Portsmouth to Norfolk this weekend, you will need to find another way. Crews have closed the Eastbound side of the tube and it will be closed until 5 Monday morning for maintenance. Alternatives include: the High Rise Bridge, Jordan Bridge, Gilmerton Bridge, or the Midtown Tunnel.

    Man dies in Suffolk car accident

    Suffolk, Va.- Police responded to a single vehicle accident in the 600 block of Turlington Road Sunday morning at 9:02 a.m. The victim, 37-year-old Gerald R. Parker, was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Parker was driving a Nissan pickup truck which ran off the road and rolled over. Turlington Rd. was closed and traffic was detoured to Jackson Rd. but reopened around 3 p.m.

    Norfolk, Va.- Smokey Bear, the beloved public service icon, turned 70 on Saturday. He celebrated with an appearance at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk.     Four pets die in Chesapeake house fire

    Chesapeake, Va.- Three dogs and a cat died in a fire that heavily damaged a home in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake Saturday evening. Fire crews were called to the fire in the 3100 block of Sir Kay Court at 6:38 p.m. When they arrived at the scene 7 minutes later, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the one-story home.     Car chase suspects taken into custody in Portsmouth

    Portsmouth, Va.- At 2:24 pm on Sunday, Portsmouth Police advised Suffolk Police that their officers were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle on 164 West. The vehicle took the Towne Point Rd. exit in Portsmouth and four people fled from the vehicle on Yaupon St. in Portsmouth. Officers tracked down the suspects on Humphreys Dr. in Suffolk.     Chesapeake, Va.- A family of six was displaced Sunday evening after a fire heavily damaged their home in the Bowers Hill section of the city.
