    Newport News, Va.- On Sunday evening, the Fire Department reported to a house fire in the 400 block of Ashton Green Blvd. in the northern section of Denbigh. The call came in around 6:41 p.m and crews arrived 5 minutes later. The fire was challenging for firefighters because there were so many contents within the house on fire that had to be removed.     Teen struck by car in Chesapeake

    Chesapeake, Va.- At 9:00 p.m, Police and medics responded to the intersection of Canal Drive and Geneva Blvd. for a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian, a 14-year-old boy, ran across the road and was struck by a vehicle. The teen was taken to Sentara Norfolk General for non-life threatening injuries.     Chesapeake, Va.- A man and woman have been displaced after a fire damaged their house on 1421 Willow Ave. Firefighters were called at 9:17 p.m and arrived 4 minutes later. When they got to the scene, crews saw flames coming from the one-story home. The fire was under control at 9:31 p.m. Fire damage was contained to the kitchen, but there was smoke damage throughout the house.     Missing girl from Missouri found in Chesapeake motel

    Chesapeake, Va. – A missing 4-year-old girl from Missouri has been found in a Chesapeake motel with her paternal grandmother, who is now in custody. Sunday morning a detective from Cuba, Missouri who was looking for the pair contacted Chesapeake police saying Sabrina Omeni was supposed to stay with her paternal grandmother this summer until July 16. However, 60-year-old Terry Omeni didn’t return the toddler as scheduled.     A fundraiser for the 3 children who lost their parents at Cherrystone Camping Resort has been set up at PNC Bank. All contributions will be sent to the court-appointed guardian of the children.     Chesapeake Walmart reopens after bomb threat

    Chesapeake, Va. – The Walmart Supercenter on Sam’s Circle in Chesapeake reopened Saturday night after a bomb threat closed it for several hours. Multiple units from the Chesapeake Fire and Police Departments responded to the store just after 9:30 p.m.  after the threat was called in. A search of the store revealed no explosives or suspicious items.  The store was allowed to be reoccupied at 11:15 p.m. Investigators are working to identify a suspect.

    Newport News, Va.- A car wash was held at Hoss’s Deli Saturday afternoon to raise money for four year old Cole Terrill’s medical expenses. Cole has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which causes extreme muscle weakness. The disease causes his muscles to break down, become weaker, and turn into fatty fiber.     SUFFOLK, VA (July 26, 2014) The victim in this afternoon’s accident died this evening in the hospital as a result of the injuries he suffered in the head on collision. He has been identified as Danny Clay Tackett, age 60, of Seaford, Virginia. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.     A dead body, found floating in the James River Sunday evening, has been identified. The Virginia Marine Resources Commission saying a jet-skier found Kenneth Leary from Lanexa, Virginia around 7:30 last night.

    Norfolk, Va.- Around 5:30 pm, a car crashed into a building on the 700 block of Newtown Rd. at the Stoney Point Center.   • Restaurant equipment store catches fire in Virginia Beach

    Virginia Beach, Va.- Firefighters fought a fire in a restaurant equipment store on Witchduck Rd. off of 264. The fire started around 6 pm and police say no one was hurt. The business was closed and the north and southbound lanes of Witchduck Rd. were closed for about an hour and a half, reopening at 7:15 pm. As of right now, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
