    Five injured after accident involving a Police car in Norfolk

    Norfolk, Va.- Around 2 p.m. Saturday, a driver on Chesapeake Boulevard did not yield and hit a Police car. Police say a marked police car with its sirens on crossed onto the Chesapeake Boulevard and Little Creek Road intersection while responding to a robbery call when it was hit. Both officers in the car and three people in the other car were taken to the hospital and everyone is expected to be okay.

    UPDATE: PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard suspended its search at 11:30 a.m. Sunday for the pilot of a plane that crashed Saturday approximately 51 miles southeast of Chincoteague Island.     Virginia Beach, Va.- At around 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Virginia State Police Trooper J.A. Vance was sitting stationary on his VSP motorcycle on the shoulder of I264 near Independence Blvd. when he was struck by a car.     Chesapeake, Va.- At around 12:00 p.m., Officers went to the scene of a traffic accident in the 3500 block of Old Mill Rd. When Police arrived, they found a white man conscious and responsive in his car. The car had swerved off the road and hit a tree. Before swerving, the vehicle side-swiped another vehicle.     Two injured after major car accident in Virginia Beach

    Virginia Beach, Va.- Two people are injured after an accident Saturday night at the intersection of Independence Blvd. and Lynnhaven. It happened around 7:30 p.m. Rescue workers had to pull out a woman who was trapped inside. Officials tell us that she was alert and conscious when they pulled her out, but they’re not sure how badly she was hurt. Another man had some bumps and bruises but he should be okay.

    Norfolk, Va. – A man was seriously injured in a moped accident at around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, police tell NewsChannel 3. The driver of the moped is currently in stable condition. Police say he fell asleep while operating his moped. His moped hit a guardrail and the man was conscious when he was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.     Recycling warehouse in Chesapeake catches fire

    Chesapeake Va.- Firefighters were called to a fire at TFC Recycling in the 1900 block of Diamond Hill Rd. at 2:22 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Crews arrived 5 minutes later and found heavy smoke coming from the one-story warehouse. The fire was under control at 2:36 p.m. No injuries were reported and the fire appears to have started because of sparks from a nearby machine that fell onto recyclable paper products. The warehouse has moderate heat and smoke damage.

    Gasoline leak reported in Norfolk

    Norfolk, Va.- At around 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening, a gasoline leak was reported at 7440 Hampton Blvd. Officials say the gas was leaking from a garage. Fire trucks are currently on the scene.

    Virginia Beach high school gets make-over before the start of a new school year

    Virginia Beach, Va.- Princess Anne High School is getting a make-over just in time for the new school year. More than 500 volunteers came together Saturday to spruce up landscaping, install signs, and paint murals. This is a joint effort between VB City Public Schools and Wave City Care. Local businesses pitched in by donating supplies, money, and volunteers.

    Rocket launch rescheduled for tonight

    Researchers will try again to launch a Terrier-Lynx Rocket. The launch was supposed to happen Friday night but was postponed due to the weather. The rocket is meant to gather data for the Department of Defense. It is scheduled to take off Saturday night between 9 and 11:30 p.m.
