I’m a reporter for WTKR News 3 and am enjoying living in Virginia. I’m excited to tell the stories of Hampton Roads. I started my career in Grand Island, Nebraska where after just a few months of reporting, I started filling in on the anchor desk for the morning show and 5pm newscast.
In November 2014, I won Miss Nebraska USA 2015 and my lifelong dream of competing at Miss USA became a reality. While reporting full time at NBC Nebraska, I traveled the state of Nebraska and country empowering girls and women to be bold and confidently beautiful, follow their passions and to take initiative to accomplish their goals.
Born and raised in Texas, I grew up a news junkie since my parents watched the news every night. I graduated from the University of Texas and continue to bleed burnt orange. While studying at UT, I received a fellowship with CBS News, where I worked for Sunday Morning and solidified my passion for news.
I’m also a fashion and lifestyle blogger at http://www.ColorandChic.com, which is my creative outlet. I love being able to style different wardrobe pairings, shoot and edit photos and engage with thousands of people on a daily basis.
I’m also a big foodie, love technology and a big bookworm. If you have any story ideas, feel free to email me: Kim.Cung@WTKR.com, tweet at me @KimCungTV or find me on Instagram at @HKCung.
