Laila and actor Donnie Wahlberg discovered they have a real life mutual friend in Virginia Beach and they surprised him with a call during their interview.  Joe Verde and Wahlberg met while pursuing their music careers in their teens.  They have been friends ever since.

    Update: The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Sivad I. Morgan of the 2500 block of Ruffin Street.  Norfolk, Va. – Police are investigating after a man was shot to death in Norfolk on Thursday night in the 800 block of A Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. His name is not being released  until  his family is notified.     Several people hospitalized after carbon monoxide exposure at Suffolk warehouse

    UPDATE: Nine people were in Sentara Obici Hospital for observation. Medical officials say they expect them to all be released.  Fire crews stayed on the scene as the facility was ventilated. They will return on Friday morning to check the air quality before reopening.     Hit and run accident causes downed power lines in Suffolk; drivers detoured

    Suffolk, Va. – If you’re headed toward the intersection of Indian Trail and Ashburn Road, you’ll have to find another route. There is a broken power pole in this area and downed power lines. Officials believe this was caused by a hit and run accident. The road will be closed for five hours as crews work to replace the pole. There is also a power outage in this area.     Chesapeake, Va. – Authorities are still working to find out the cause of a fire that destroyed a city warehouse in Chesapeake on Wednesday. Executive Boulevard in Greenbrier was shut down for hours as crews worked to put out the fire. The warehouse belongs to the public works department for the city and had small equipment, paint and fuel inside.     Norfolk, Va. – A Thanksgiving adoption? Neal Shytles doesn’t have much to his name. “This is bed 13,” he says, pointing out a bottom bunk at the Union Mission Ministries men’s shelter. “This is where I lived for a year.” Neal is homeless and has been staying at the shelter in Norfolk for a year and a half now.
