    Norfolk, Va. – A woman is recovering from serious injuries after crews rescued her from an apartment fire on Thursday afternoon. The fire occurred in the 400 block of Fenchurch Avenue.     Norfolk, Va,. – At a family Christmas party back during the winter, 84-year-old James Johnson showed his grandson several Christmas cards he had received. The cards contained money. Johnson’s grandson, Tauris Sills, “took notice” of the cash. Days later, Tauris went to his grandpa’s house, pushed him down, then kicked him in the head over and over again.     DOJ subpoenas airlines over keeping ticket prices high

    WASHINGTON (CNN) — The Justice Department has sent subpoenas to several major airlines as part of an investigation into “possible unlawful coordination” to limit capacity increases, and thereby keeping ticket prices high, a department spokeswoman said Wednesday.     Man recovering after stabbing in Portsmouth

    Portsmouth, Va. – A man is recovering from his injuries after he was stabbed in Portsmouth on  Tuesday morning. The victim was found suffering from injuries to his torso. He was sent to Maryview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police are now investigating this case. There are currently no leads on a suspect.     Power restored to hundreds after transformers blow in Newport News

    Newport News, Va. – Hundreds of customers were without power after transformers blew up in a Newport News neighborhood. Dominion Virginia Power was on the scene on 30th and Washington to Hunington. Eight poles fell but officials have not confirmed what caused the poles to fall. They say over 750 customers were without service. All but 21 customers have been restored.     Child hit by vehicle while on bicycle in Suffolk

    Suffolk, Va. – A child was hit by a vehicle while on a bicycle in Suffolk on Tuesday. The accident happened  in the 300 block of West Washington Street. Emergency dispatch was notified at around 5:17 p.m. A 10-year-old was riding his bicycle and was hit by a black Jeep SUV. The driver remained on the scene. The child suffered non-life threatening injuries and as taken to the hospital. There were no other injuries. This accident is still under investigation.
