    UPDATE: A woman and an 8-year-old girl were found dead inside of a Norfolk home on Wednesday.  Police have now released the cause of death for both victims and the name of the adult.  They say the child died as a result of a gunshot wound and the woman, identified as 48-year-old Karla M.   • UPDATE: Police identify man shot and killed in Norfolk

    Norfolk, Virginia – Norfolk police have identified the victim of a homicide that occurred in the area of Jason Avenue and Hancock Avenue. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Dajuan F. Glover of the 7400 block of Dakota Avenue. Police responded to a call of a gunshots heard around 4:40am and found Glover suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.     UPDATE: Shillelagh Rd. is now open to traffic following Tuesday’s closure for a cave-in.  Chesapeake, Va. – A sinkhole has closed the 1200 block of Shillelagh Road in both directions in Chesapeake. Detours are marked and drivers should avoid the area if possible. The city says this closure will last much of the day as crews complete repairs.   • 58 without a home after apartment fire in Chesapeake

    Chesapeake, Va. – A kitchen fire has displaced 58 occupants of the Heron’s Landing Apartments on South Military Highway in Chesapeake. Firefighters were called to the fire at 10:17 p.m. The building’s fire sprinkler system extinguished the fire in the kitchen of a second floor apartment, but caused water damage to apartments on the first and second floors.   • PHOTOS: Car strikes post office in Chesapeake

    Chesapeake, Va. – A car crashed into a Chesapeake post office Tuesday morning. It happened around 8:15 a.m. at the post office located in the 1400 block of N. Battlefield Blvd. The car struck a woman inside of the building. Firefighters were able to free the woman after she became pinned next to the car. She was then rushed to a local hospital.     UPDATE: Man arrested after barricade situation at Chesapeake motel

    Chesapeake, Virginia –  A barricade situation at Studio and Suites 4 Less on Battlefield Boulevard near Wal-Mart ended peacefully around 5:30am Tuesday when the suspect surrendered to police. Police have arrested 38-year-old Alan Lawson of Newport News in reference to the barricaded/SWAT incident.
