    Chesapeake, Va. – People in Chesapeake are taking action to raise money for cancer research while helping people to get in shape. A fundraising workout was held at CrossFit Chesapeake on 1009 Scenic Parkway.     Norfolk, Va. – A great game day for our Old Dominion Monarchs! The men’s basketball team hosted the Georgia Southern Eagles today at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk. The Monarchs played a close game with the Eagles but took it home for the win with a final score of 86-69.

    Norfolk firefighters respond to smoke on roof in shopping center

    Norfolk, Va. – Several fire trucks were at the shopping center near Virginia Beach Boulevard and Church Street today. Firefighters say they responded to a call of a small amount of smoke appearing on the roof of the businesses. No word yet if there was any fire or any damage.

  • Coast Guard and Navy rescue 3 people from disabled sailboat

    Portsmouth, Va. – The Coast Guard and crew of the Navy destroyer USS Cole rescued three people today from the disabled 38-foot sailboat Wings approximately 210 miles offshore of North Carolina in the Atlantic Ocean. Coast Guard Fifth District watchstanders received a call Friday from a commercial towing company who relayed a request for assistance on behalf of the Wing’s crew.     Moscow, Id. – The Old Dominion football team traveled 2700 miles west to take on Idaho. This would be the fourth F-B-S team they’ve faced this season. With a close game during the first three quarters, the Monarchs take the win against the Vandals with a 59-38 win.
