LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – It’s been a “Hall” of a run, but it appears as if it’s come to an end.

Monday, Chesapeake native (Deep Creek High School) and former Virginia Tech standout DeAngelo Hall told reporters his playing days are over. According to several reports, including via the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Hall confirmed his retirement at the Ryan Kerrigan Leukemia Golf Classic.

“I’m not playing,” Hall said in an interview. “That’s for damn sure. But yeah, all the other stuff is still on the table.”

Hall, the eighth overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, played 14 NFL seasons and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection. He’s been with the Redskins since 2008.

In 14 seasons, Hall played in 171 games – recording 43 interceptions. However, injuries limited the defensive back to just 22 games the last four seasons.

Hall told reporters he’s considering transitioning into a career in television or pursuing jobs in an NFL front office.

UPDATE: Late Monday night, the official Redskins twitter account (despite acknowledging the end of DeAngelo’s career earlier in the day) tweeted Hall has not yet officially decided to retire despite reports.

Hall, while speaking to 106.7 The Fan, clarified his comments. NFL.com transcribed Hall’s comments:

“Am I done playing football? I’m probably 95 percent sure I’m done playing football but I wanted to do it the right way. I wanted to give the Redskins organization the respect it deserved and obviously do it with them when the time was right. I wanted to wait until at least I signed my national deal with the network before I made that official announcement, and I wanted to do it at a press conference.”

In a tweet just before midnight, Hall say he has not retired, but does think he’s played his last football game. Hall adds his official retirement announcement won’t come until he’s 100% committed to his next chapter of life.
