One motorcyclist dead, another critically injured in crash on I-264

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – One person has died and another remains in critical condition after a crash involving two motorcycles and a Honda Odyssey minivan on I-264 on Wednesday evening.

The crash happened at 7:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-264 east of Laskin Road.

Virginia State Police report a white 2017 Suzuki motorcycle and a blue 2008 Suzuki motorcycle were traveling westbound on I-264 at a high rate of speed. The driver of the white motorcycle hit the back of a 2006 Honda Odyssey, causing the driver to lose control and hit the jersey wall.

After the motorcycle hit the van, the white motorcycle collided with the blue motorcycle, ejecting the driver.

Both motorcyclists were transported to Virginia Beach General Hospital with life threatening injuries. While at the hospital, one of the motorcyclists died as a result of his injuries. The other motorcyclist remains in critical condition.

All occupants in the minivan were transported to Virginia Beach General with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
