PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Officers with the Portsmouth Police Department are investigating a shooting that happened in the 2700 block of Elm Avenue Friday.
Dispatchers received the call shortly before 10 p.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are believed to be non-life threatening.
