NORFOLK, Va. - Doing some last-minute holiday shopping? Try thinking outside of the box...literally!

If you have family or friends who may be difficult to shop for, try paying for something they can experience instead of putting a present under the tree.

“Everybody in my family, I just have no idea what to get them,” Jimel Iglesia said.

We all have that one person on our list who could use some serious relaxation.

Paying for a massage is a great experience gift they are sure to love.

"Individually that would be expensive but if you were to do it for couples that would really work. Especially for aunts and uncles that seems like a good gift," Iglesia said.

“A spa. After all of this we need to take care of ourselves. A spa would be great,” Lisa Landry said.

For anyone 21 and older on your Christmas list, local breweries like O’Connor offer free tours and you can make it extra special by adding in a free tasting.

“You can have your own dedicated private area with a dedicated bartender so that you don’t have to wait in any lines and it’s all staffed just for you,“ Sarah Serrano said.

We all have a weekend getaway or stay-cation in mind, but planning can be expensive.

So, for your restless friend, an Airbnb gift card or night at a bed and breakfast is perfect.

The average for one night at a bed and breakfast in Norfolk is $109.

“Definitely traveling so save money on that five me my Airbnb I would like that," Iglesia said.

These are great ways to surprise your loved ones and support local businesses.
