Suspect in Norfolk homicide case continued

NORFOLK, Va. – The man accused of killing a man in a weekend murder in Norfolk was in court December 17, 2017.

Police arrested 25-year-old Gary Drew and he is facing several charges including second degree murder and malicious wounding.

Officers are accusing Drew of killing 31-year-old Claude Smith on Ivaloo Street Sunday.

Investigators said Smith was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a car.

Another man was found with a gunshot wound inside a home nearby.

Claude was rushed to the hospital but later died. The other man was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Drew was also facing two weapons charges.

On December 3, 2018 charges for First Degree Murder, two counts of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Malicious Wounding charges were nolle prossed.
