A Virginia Beach couple robbed at gun point says their entire life savings is now gone

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Virginia Beach Police are investigating a home invasion and shooting that occurred Monday night.

Police were called to the 4900 block of Raycraft Drive around 10:30 p.m.

An investigation revealed that two men forced their way into a home and held the residents at gunpoint while demanding money.

"They came in and said we want your money. I told him, 'I don’t have any money.' Then he pointed the gun at my girl and then pointed the gun at me and told me to get on the floor and he pointed the gun at my face," says Thomas Sims, victim.

During the incident, Sims was shot in the hand. His injuries are non-life threatening.

“I didn’t think he was really going to do it and he just shot through my hand and said I'm not f-ing around I want all of it. I said please just take it. Please just don’t shoot my girlfriend or shoot my dog," says Sims.

“I'm just scared. I don’t want to stay here. We have no money now. We have nothing," says Robin Polsinelli, victim.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'11" - 6'2" tall. He was wearing all black clothing, a face mask and was armed with a handgun.

Police say this incident does not appear to be a random act of violence. However, there are no additional details right now as the investigation is still ongoing.
