Gas leak on Ridgecrest Drive (Suffolk Fire & Rescue)
SUFFOLK, Va. – A gas leak in a Suffolk neighborhood is now under control.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police responded to the leak in the 100 block of Ridgecrest Drive just before 9:30 a.m.
The leak occurred when a contractor struck a two-inch natural gas line. Virginia Natural Gas responded and was able to get the leak secured.
Three residences on Ridgecrest Drive were evacuated as a precaution but they have since been allowed back to their homes.
Roadblocks are set up at Ridgecrest Drive and Grove Avenue, as well as Colonial Drive and Pond Drive. The roads will reopen once repair work is fully complete.
