Pedestrian critically injured in Norfolk crash

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk Police Department is investigating a crash that left a man critically injured a the intersection of Granby Street and Maycox Avenue Wednesday night.

Dispatchers received the call requiring assistance to the southbound lanes of the 7400 block of Granby Street at 7:45 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that a man was struck by a Toyota RAV4 while the man was attempting to cross Granby Street. The driver, who stayed at the scene after the incident, was not injured.

The male victim was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Southbound Granby Street at Maycox Avenue is currently closed while the Norfolk Police Traffic Fatality Team investigates the crash.

No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
