Suffolk home catches fire after lightning strike

SUFFOLK, Va. –  Suffolk Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 6600 block of Quince Road Sunday afternoon.

Officials say lightning struck the house causing the fire just after 5 p.m.

The fire was contained to the attic area and extinguished in less than a hour.

No one was injured.

Five people have been displaced, including two adults and three kids.

The displaced residents will not require any assistance.
