Virginia Beach Fire crews investigate electrical smell at Hermitage Elementary

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Virginia Beach Fire Department crews responded to Hermitage Elementary School in Virginia Beach on Monday morning to investigate an electrical smell.

While crews were working to find the source of the smell, students and staff were evacuated from the building, according to a spokesperson from Virginia Beach Schools.

The scene was cleared a short time later and all students and staff were allowed back in the building. The school day has since resumed as normal.
