NORFOLK, Va. – A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a bank robbery.
Around 4 p.m. police said they responded to the Wells Fargo at 440 Monticello Avenue for a robbery that just occurred.
Clerks said a man entered the bank and demanded money. After a clerk complied and gave the suspect money, he fled on foot.
Police said as they searched the area and detained 60-year-old Jimmy E. Simons Church Street and East Princess Anne Road because he matched a description given.
Simons was charged with robbery and is currently in the Norfolk City Jail being held with no bond.
