VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina is still deciding whether or not to challenge Sen. Tim Kaine next year, she said on Tuesday.

“We’ll see. Maybe yes. Maybe no. I haven’t decided yet,” she told a reporter following an appearance at Regent University.

Fiorina spoke to a crowd of about 500 about her rise to become CEO of Hewlett-Packard and her faith. “I actually believe deeply that people of faith make better leaders,” she said.

She now lives in the Commonwealth and says she’s focused on other things for now. “I’m pretty focused on helping Ed Gillespie in the governor’s race,” she said. “We’ll get through this year first.”

When asked about the potential challenge earlier this month, Sen. Kaine said he expected a tough race in 2018. “In a presidential year, [Virginia] may be slightly blue, and in a non-presidential year slightly red,” he said. “It’s always going to be very, very close.”

Fiorina told the crowd she believes more than just politicians should be leading the country, and said she’s worried about the current political climate. “It’s become uncivil and disrespectful,” she said. “I don’t think that’s helpful.”
