NORFOLK, VA. - Michael Woodard's Bayview neighborhood home was broken into Tuesday morning.

Woodard says the incident happened between 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m on Sheppard Avenue.

“They busted off this lock here. I had two locks here and I didn’t that morning lock my deadbolt and like I said the guts to this laying all over the place," Woodard told News 3.

Woodard said after searching his house, he found that nothing had been taken.

He said the burglar allegedly locked his dog upstairs in the bedroom.

The pit bull, Woodard said, has been traumatized.

"As I opened up the door, my dog was standing over there, shaking," he explained.

Envy is staying with his son.

“My son didn’t want her here again --- being traumatized like that, in case the guy did come back," Woodard said.

Woodard says he's checking with nearby businesses to see if they have surveillance video of the burglar.
